Why can't we just get along?

Two ridiculous flame wars in one week is too many by exactly two. First the absurdity created by
kibbles about Something Awful's right to insult whomever they choose whenever they choose, but the unwillingness of their members to accept insults in return. Then the strange behavior of
therianthropy which seems to forbid discussions about the very subject the group is supposed to be about, and practices censorship freely to prevent them. And last week it was
tigerwolf (not to be confused with the real TigerWolf, apparently) whose misogyny is beyond belief.
I know, I know, there are probably a hundred more such absurdities going on that I just haven't seen, but I really do find this inability to even talk about something with some degree of sanity quite tragic. Worse yet, these wars go on between people who I thought felt some degree of alienation from humanity in general for the same reasons I do. Obviously I was wrong, since they engage in the very things that I reject about humanity...
And I can't even spread my wings and fly away, since I don't have any to spread. Oh well.

jmaynard (we live in the same house) that has gotten crazy, I'm trying to stay detached as it's likely the safest thing for me to do. There may be a fire, but at least I'm not showering it with gasoline. Water would be good, but I've grabbed the wrong container, as it were, before.

Date: 2004-04-30 12:21 pm (UTC)He's a hell of a nice guy, but he doesn't suffer fools gladly. And he's very intelligent. So he's not to be confused with his name sake, from what I have been told. I don't know this other guy. I had supper with the original Tigerwolf though last Saturday at Wolf Park.
Someone should really start some sort of name registry I guess. What confusion!
