... some of the things one finds out about others. I'm a bit ancy about doing the furvey myself, actually.

What did you find out that was a surprise? I'd have thought you could guess it all, just as Calydor did.

No, my partner is not a furry. Though he has more fur than I do, actually.

Yeah, well, I've known you a lot longer, and more personally.

I haven't had the chance to know you quite so personally (its been rare I've seen you on FM) and as close of a friend as Calydor is, he and I both respect others' right to privacy and confidance. I don't believe I've heard you talk about your real life much outside of your journal.

I didn't know your sexuality, though I felt "hints" I didn't feel it prudent to ask. For some reason, I didn't think you had been in a relationship for some time.

I guess that's what these furveys are for, to find out things about our friends we didn't know. :)

I was heterosexually married from 1973-1976. We parted on friendly terms, though my ex is so footloose that I'm not sure where she is right now. I last heard from her about two years ago.

My current partner and I have been together 22 years, 3 months and counting. We own our property jointly, get along like any married couple (better than many) and I don't anticipate any changes for the rest of this life. We have a lot of shared interests as well as differences. Furry fantasy is probably a bit too exotic for him, though he is well aware of my involvement. He is an active Morris dancer, which I find similarly "far out". It all works in the end.

Horsiest?

We are looking forward to seeing you at MFF! I think you'll find it an interesting place with interesting people. Regarding this quiz, or "furvey", I think any such thing reveals as much about the person who constructed it as it does about the person taking it. for example, I always think of East Germany when I hear the letters DDR!

Wish I could attend, I'd be thrilled for a chance to meet 'Tivo, but my budget is on a severe constraint and I'm trying to save up to visit a certain special friend of mine next year and possibly attend two furry cons -- Eurofurence and one local to me, Conifur (already Gofur'ed this year so I can get Conifur next year for free ... don't know if I'll be able to swing EFX just yet).

A lot depends on my being able to get a *fourth* job between now and early next year (I'm already a student, working part-time for Frito-Lay and trying to learn the financial services business along with my father at a company called Primerica ... Frito-lay is the only one giving me a paycheck and last week I only worked 12 hours, its hard to save up on that ...)

Certainly understandable. I suspect we'll get a chance to meet sometime. (Though I admit I'm not sure why I should inspire much interest or curiosity.)

Me too, both about MFF and DDR. Until about a month ago, my only referent for DDR was East Germany. I admit to being astonished at how much some people would spend just in order to play a computer-controlled dance game.

I've never been too excited about dancing, myself. And my overly sensitive ears keep me well out of range of most dance venues these days, even more than my taste in music would do. On the other hand, it's certainly a more innocuous form of entertainment than many.

Don't worry - it's entirely optional. It is kind of fun to watch DDR, but only if the people involved are really good. Mostly it's boring because most people aren't. The funniest is when people try to do it in costume!

My taste in music is open to new stuff, even though I may be currently listening to Karajan's 1962 recording of the Beethoven Symphony cycle in the car. But the new stuff I like is really kind of retro-punk stuff that remind me of my youth. The hop-hop rap stuff and a lot of other new stuff I have little use for. Some of the uglier hard rock new stuff, strangely enough I like because of my classical background. Bands like "Korn" are not that hard to follow once you start to understand the modern orchestral masterpieces and get past the disonnance of them. Most Serialist music leaves me cold, but some of the more dramatic and expressive 12-tone and post-modern stuff I do like.
