Yawn...

Didn't sleep well last night. Worrying, I think, over all that could go wrong today forcing me to back out the new hardware.

Nothing went wrong, at least nothing perceptible. In fact something went right: the VPN didn't renegotiate, breaking connections, after being up for eight hours. It's been doing that most days for nearly two years. It seems the major upgrade to firmware and software may have finally fixed that glitch. No guarantees yet, but maybe.

Sunny today if not warm. For two days now I've observed robins in the park outside the library standing on the ground in long lines, spaced about eight to ten feet apart, advancing toward the sun a few hops at a time. Usually one moves forward, and the others quickly follow as if to keep the row lined up straight. Yesterday I saw them doing this with two ranks, one ahead of and staggered between the positions in the second.

The snow is all gone except where it is in perpetual shadow. Gary cut some daffodil buds right before the storm and brought them inside. They opened last night almost as we watched. I haven't gone out to check on the snow peas we planted ten days back, but they're tough enough to come up through the snow if need be.
