All these years of keeping bunnies and not one of them has ever laid an easter egg for me. The ducks didn't even come through today. At least the weather was a bit nicer (meaning above freezing all day, though not particularly sunny.)
Finished the spinning guild newsletter for April. Made a large, if not terribly fancy, dinner (ham, asparagus, sweet potatoes, sauerkraut with apples and bacon, pineapple-cherry cake, the ubiquitous jell-o salad.) And now, if his connection has stayed alive while he was away, I'm going to go listen to

Date: 2007-04-09 06:55 am (UTC)Did you do the show for the broadcast this week? I missed it tonight so if you did I didn't get to hear it and I apologize. I know that if I had pre-recorded a show I sure wouldn't want to listen to it, ewww...
Thanks for the text message. Besides being eggless, I hope you had a wonderful Easter. *hugs and nuzzles*

Thanks for the Easter wishes. I'll let you keep the chocolate, what I really prefer are jelly beans. Especially the sour ones, like Starburst or Jolly Rancher. ;p

Your dinner sounds tastylicious. Well except for
the 'kraut. I've never been able to enjoy saurkraut.

How to sauerkraut...
Date: 2007-04-09 03:07 pm (UTC)Here's what I did, you might even like it. Take a can or jar of "Bavarian style" kraut. The Bavarian style is sweetened with some sugar and has caraway seeds mixed in. Peel, core and slice two or three good apples and mix them in. A handful of raisins wouldn't go amiss either. Add some crispy-fried bacon crumbles, or just a dollop of butter. Put in a covered oven dish and bake at 300° or so for about an hour before serving. It's quite nice, really.
Plain sauerkraut usually needs to be drained of juice and rinsed once in cold water, by the way. Otherwise the acidity really does ruin it.
As for the buns, well, they're cute anyway. Or she is. I only have one left now.

You know, just plain sour saurkraut is the
only thing I ever got served growing up. When
I was old enough I banished it from my "things
that are edible" list. Your recipe will be tried
though. ^.^
